Our Story

  • Christian Faith Baptist Church is a gathered body of believers whose purpose is to serve God as we strive for intergenerational discipleship, spiritually enriched families, and the empowerment of humanity. Committed to living out the loving and liberating message of the Gospel, guided by the Holy Spirit, we seek to be the hands, feet, and voice of our risen Saviour, Jesus Christ.

  • We seek to invest in the Biblical education and spiritual preparation in communion with all ages. Acts 2: 42 Joel 2:28-29

  • We seek to develop and sustain families to honor one another through love, prayer and the ministries of the church. Ephesians 5:21 I Corinthians 13:13 I John 4:7-8

  • Knowing that God has made all people of one blood, we humbly seek to advocate and uplift humankind in respect and love. Psalm 133:1 Matthew 25:45 John 3:16

Our Team

Bishop James P. Brown

Senior Pastor

Bishop Dr. James Paul Brown was born and raised in South Philadelphia. Raised by his great-grandparents, he was taught about the true values and wisdoms of life in order for him to be a mature and accomplished man in a world where life is no crystal stair.

Reverend December Pike

Reverend

Reverend December Pike was born and raised in North Philadelphia. She grew up in a single parent home with her two younger siblings and her mother, who is the foundation of her strength. Being a product of the Philadelphia Public School System, she graduated from Strawberry Mansion High School and from there pursed a degree in higher education.

Reverend John Burton

Reverend

Reverend John Burton was born and raised in South Philadelphia. He is a devout Man of God, loving husband to his beautiful wife Deaconess Terri Burton, dedicated father, wonderful grandfather, caring great grandfather, and a loyal friend. He feels life is rich with the blessing of having a family that loves, cares, and supports him.

Reverend Deborah Stevenson

Reverend

Reverend Deborah Stevenson is a native of Philadelphia. She is a loving mother, amazing friend, dedicated worker, and faithful Woman of God. She is a beacon of light and people have found encouragement in her kindness, her beautiful words that uplift, and comfort in her presence.

Our Statement of Faith

We believe that there is one, and only one, living and true God, an infinite, intelligent Spirit, the maker and supreme ruler of heaven and earth inexpressibly glorious in holiness and worthy of all possible honor, confidence, and love; that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption.

We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men supernaturally inspired; that it has truth without any admixture of error for its matter; and therefore is, and shall remain to the end of the age, the only complete and final revelation of the will of God to man; the true center of Christian union and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions should be tried.
